There are 5 things you have to fix in your mind.

1. Choose programing language you want to use for data science. suppose you selected python understand and learn python hard way along with MySQL as SQL database or NoSQL etc(60% interview based on this).
2. If you are fresher and giving interview. keep in mind interviewer never asks you deep dive questions in machine learning and algorithms. prepare yourself first in core python program, sql, statistics, data preprocessing concept and libraries then prepare ML algorithms and try to develop projects with your own code(Don’t copy from github).
3. Company’s never put you directly on ML algorithms and AI projects if you have minimal or medium level experience(Even if you hired as Data Scientist) they will first evaluate your knowledge about how well you can work on data, how you can use your coding knowledge, how you can see data and apply logic's to solve real world business problems.
4. Join classroom training so that you can get clear understanding on topics and ask questions. No one will provide you every topics and method understanding in-depth knowledge. learn yourself, try to get deep dive into specific topics, try to implement more alternative methods and implement on your own. Example:- Suppose if you are in Feature Selection part. they will teach you only filter methods and wrapper methods but, you have to research yourself from free available content, YouTube videos, Blogs, Git-hub and many more websites for other feature selection methods and need to learn and implement on projects.
5. The last and most important please be aware of the institutes and online trainings who provides courses on above listed skills. No one in market gives you guarantee for job. They are just providing support there is difference between support and guarantee. They will make you fool and apply their marketing skills to get yourself enrolled for the courses
